Washington Park Lifeguard Team
Beginning Monday, August 10, 2015, lifeguards will no longer be on duty on weekdays. They will continue to be on duty on Saturday and Sunday through Labor Day weekend from 10 am to 6 pm.
Dates and hours are suject to change.

Washington Park Daily Hours & Fees
Daily parking fees will be charged on weekends only beginning May 16, 2015. Parking fees will be charged daily beginning Monday, May 25, 2015 through Monday, September 7, 2015. Parking fees will charged on weekends only after Labor Day through the month of September. Parking hours are subject to change.
Washington Park is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm, year round
Parking fees apply from 8 am to 9 pm and from 6 am to 10 pm during special events
Car and motorcycle parking $7 per day
Trailer, bus or motorhome $14 per day
Washington Park Annual Parking Stickers
Available April 1, 2015 through September 7, 2015 at the Clerks's Office in City Hall, 100 E. Michigan Blvd., from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Stickers are also distributed on Saturdays at the Michigan City Port Authority Office in Washington Park from 9 am to noon beginning Saturday, May 2, 2015 through Saturday, July 25, 2015.

Washington Park Beach Water Quality Testing Program
Lake Michigan is tested for bacteria levels daily at Washington Park Beach, Stop 2 at California Avenue and Stop 7 at Beachwalk between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Test results will be posted the following day by 11 am on our website or on our beach hotline number 219.873.1406 x:390.

The beach is tested in the following locations:

235 and below is an acceptable level of bacteria and the beach will remain open
236-999 - an advisory will be issued, the beach will be open, but swim at your own risk
1,000 and above is unacceptable and the beach will be closed
