Share the Care Program
The Share the Care Program aids in the funding for animal upkeep, animal enrichment and exhibit enhancement. A trained and dedicated staff provides the best care possible through a commitment to the health and well being of the animals.
The zoo staff is deeply committed to all aspects of animal care and welfare. Unfortunately, due to budget restraints we must rely on the generosity of others. With more than 400 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians to feed and care for, our Share the Care Program assists in providing animals with exceptional benefits. When you sponsor an animal, your gift goes directly to help support exhibit enhancement and enrichment items. By participating in this wonderful program you will be helping to enrich the lives of the animals in the zoo collection! Any of the animals at the Washington Park Zoo can be sponsored.
As a member in our Share the Care family, and when you visit the zoo you'll see the rewards of your efforts. Show your support for the Washington Park Zoo by purchasing a Share the Care animal package. Choose the level and make a donation to Share the Care and you will be helping to provide expert care for your favorite animals for one full year. All gifts are tax deductible through the Michgian City Zoological Society, the zoo's non-profit support organization.
All proceeds go directly to the WPZ Share the Care Fund. You will received a package good for one year at the donation level you choose.
1. Animal sponsors are good for one year and are renewable.
2. Due to popularity, some animals may be sponsored by many people.
3. No ownership rights are transferred by sponsoring an animal.

A one time behind the scenes zoo tour (appointment only) for up to 8 people
8 tickets for the Zoofari train
8 seed sticks for the Austrailian Avian Adventure
Fountain drinks and popcorn for 8 people

A Share the Care sponsorship makes a gret gift for any time of year, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Fourth of July, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah, or Kwanza! You'll learn more about your animal from the information and gifts you'll recieve. As a Share the Care supporter you will be invited to our Share the Care evening event. It is our special way to thank you for your generous support of the zoo's animals. Our Share the Care evening event includes special animal presentations, a cake cutting ceremony and much, much more! To participate, you must be a Share the Care sponsor. Date to be announced and invitations will be sent out to all of our Share the Care sponsors.
Anyone can Share the Care, individuals, families, school or scout groups, businesses, clubs and sports teams. Now you can help care the zoo's animals by giving a donation; it is both rewarding and fun.
